The Casey County News, 1916
Mr. Samuel Lane, about seventy years of age, died at his home near Celeste, 
last week after a sort illness of pneumonia.  Mr. Lane was a federal soldier 
in the Civil War.  A member of the Baptist Church and was a kind, quiet, good 
old gentleman.  He is survived by a wife and daughter. Burial service at 
Poplar Grove.
