She was 83 years old. Born in Casey County on April 26, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Wily and Mae Mabe Delp. She was a home maker and member of Shady Grove Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Survivors include her husband, Amos Emerson; a daughter, Lyda Caudall of Louisville; two sons, Ralph Emerson of Georgetown, Texas, and Denny Emerson of Noblesville Ind.; brother Fred Delp of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was an employee of the Lexington Herald- Leader for 27 years and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
