LIBERTY -- Russell Edward Floyd, 73, of Lexington died Thursday at 
Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.

Born July 17, 1928, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Loren 
E. and Laura K. Floyd. 

He established and managed a grocery store in Casey County and also 
worked as a meat cutter and packer in Louisville. He built houses in 
Kentucky and Indiana, researched and developed real estate, and was an 
entrepreneur and political campaign promoter. 

He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge No. 724 F&AM, Shriners and 
UFCW Local 227.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Loren E. Floyd Jr., and a sister, 
Marguerite F. Hicks.

Survivors include his daughter, Marguerite Floyd of Lexington; a brother, 
Theodore A. Floyd of Somers Point, N.J.; and a sister, Amanda F. Greer of 
Tucson, Ariz.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel by Clifford 
DeHart. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today, with Masonic services at 7 p.m.
