Born July 17, 1928, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Loren E. and Laura K. Floyd. He established and managed a grocery store in Casey County and also worked as a meat cutter and packer in Louisville. He built houses in Kentucky and Indiana, researched and developed real estate, and was an entrepreneur and political campaign promoter. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge No. 724 F&AM, Shriners and UFCW Local 227. He was preceded in death by a brother, Loren E. Floyd Jr., and a sister, Marguerite F. Hicks. Survivors include his daughter, Marguerite Floyd of Lexington; a brother, Theodore A. Floyd of Somers Point, N.J.; and a sister, Amanda F. Greer of Tucson, Ariz. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel by Clifford DeHart. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today, with Masonic services at 7 p.m.
