Born May 3, 1923, in Casey County, he was the son of the late George A. and Molly Marple Land. He was a retired foreman for Electric Steel Casting Co. in Indianapolis and a member of Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lela Murphy Land; a daughter, Phyllis Williams of Liberty; a son, Rayburn Land of Lebanon, Ind.; two brothers, Clement Land of Liberty and George Land Jr. of Indianapolis; six grand- children; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Land. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Samuel Warren and Kevin Rodgers. Burial will be in Green River Valley Cemetery. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today. Memorials may go to the cemetery trust fund.
