James Donald Smiley, 72, of Secretariat Dr. died Friday at Ephraim 
McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 26, 1930 in Liberty, he was the son of the late James Herbert 
and Lizzie Jeter Smiley. He was a farmer and was retired from Whirlpool 
Corporation. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and 
the Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge, Hustonville.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Semonis Smiley of Danville; two 
brothers, John Smiley of Somerset and Jones Smiley of Lexington.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Don 
Benningfield. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice or Centenary United Methodist 
Church.
