John R. Christian officiating. Burial will be in Sinking Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday. He died at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tenn., following a brief illness. A native of Christian County, he was born March 15, 1943, the son of the late Johnie and Ora Mae Burke Brown. He was employed by Hopkinsville Elevator-Agri-Chem and was a member of the Sinking Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Connie Rhea Woosley Brown; a son, John A. Brown, Hopkinsville; a daughter, Leigh Anne Smith, Hopkinsville; seven sisters, Rose George, Independence, Mo., Marilyn Arnett, Cordle, Ga., Kay Smithson, Herndon, Pam Hensley, Kansas City, Mo., Judy Allen, Paulette Young and Terri Wells, all of Hopkinsville; three brothers, Floyd Brown, Hopkinsville, Gene Brown, the county, Larry Brown, Oak Grove and one grandson.
