Edward Buckner Hester, 74, Gracey, were slated for this morning at Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Lamb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He died of natural causes at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at his home. A native of Hopkinsville, he was born March 22, 1926. He was the son of the late Edward Brandon and Flora Bell Campbell Hester and was retired from the ministry of the United Episcopal Church, where he had served in the Order of St. Augustus of Canterbury. He was the administrative assistant to the bishop. He was a member of the Christian County Genealogical Society, a World War II Army veteran and served in the Air Force in Korea. A son, John Buckner Hester, died in 1992. Survivors include two sons, David Neil Hester and Michael Edward Hester, both of Tallahassee, Fla.; three daughters, Deborah Sue Hester Cloud and Ann Elizabeth Hester Mathis, both of Marianna, Fla., and Mary Melanie Hester, Kissimmee, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
