Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with the Rev. John R. Christian officiating. Burial will be in Sinking Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight. A native of Christian County, she was born Oct. 5, 1939, the daughter of the late Eugene Hamilton and Amy Evelyn Smith. She worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. Raymond Snowden and was co-owner and operator of Lancaster Ambulance Service, the county's first private ambulance service which was started in 1972. She was a member of the Sinking Fork Baptist Church. Her husband, John William ‘'Bill'' Lancaster, died in 1994. Survivors include three sons, Gene Lancaster, Lexington, Jammie Lancaster, Hopkinsville, Timmy Lancaster, Evansville, Ind.; a brother, J.W. Smith, Louisville; two sisters, Margaret Daniels, Fayetteville, N.C., Jeanie Gray, Avon, N.C., and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Sinking Fork Baptist Church. Submitter: Gregory W.
