Jack R. Studie and Chaplain John Welsh officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Pembroke. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Maddux Funeral Home, Pembroke. He died at 4:05 p.m. (EST) Thursday, March 1, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, following a short illness. A native of Hopkinsville, he was born Oct. 17, 1965. He was the son of William T. and Betty Cayce Rives, Pembroke, and was a communications officer senior for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Police Division. Additionally, he was a staff sergeant in the 138th field artillery brigade of the Kentucky Army National Guard. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a paternal grandmother, Garvie Rives, Hopkinsville; two brothers, Brooke T. Rives, Hopkinsville, and Gary T. Rives, Christian County; and a sister, Ellen T. Rives, Franklin. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Leukemia Society of America. Submitter: Gregory W.
