First all my lawful debts to be paid, second I do give & bequeath to my daughter Polly MCFARLIN one hundred dollars exclusive of all that I have given her heretofore, lands, stock, furniture. And third, I do give and bequeath to my son Robert Thompson two hundred acres of land as now…? of, including said Robert's farm adjoining my tract of land or part of the same where I now live, also the horse, cow, gun & that said Robert has now in his possession. Fourth, I do give and bequeath to my son James Thompson ninety six acres of land adjoining & surveyed with Robert Thompson's, also a horse I gave the said James to the amount of one hundred dollars, also three hundred dollars in cash that is now in said James hands which I recently gave. Fifth, I do hereby ordain that all the ballance of my land including the plantation where I now live together with all my negroes, my stock of all kinds, farming utensils, waggon, household furniture and every species of goods, chattels & property now belong to me to be sold at a credit at the direction of my executors and be divided in the following way, to wit, my wife Sophia Thompson is to have four hundred dollars for the purpose of educating that part of my children who are the youngest & who have not had the opportunity of the rest, I here allow & do hereby give & bequeath to my wife Sophia Thompson, Jane SNODON(?), John Thompson, Alexander Thompson, Sophia Thompson, Nancy Thompson, & Isabella Thompson all my children an equal part of the proceeds of the sale of all my property as above mentioned except Jane SNODON (?) out of whose part is to be deducted the amount of what she has received at the valuation of my executors or any honest means (?) they may choose. My executors is to pay my daughter Polly the above named hundred dollars out of the proceeds of the sale provided the whole amount to including what is (…?…) me seven thousand five hundred dollars. On reflection I do hereby order that my daughter Polly shall have the above named hundred dollars at any rate whatever the proceeds of the sale be, seven thousand five hundred or not. I do hereby appoint my wife Sophia Thompson and my two sons Robert and James Thompson to be my lawfull executors to execute this my last will and testament. Christian County Court December term 1816 This the last will and testament of John Thompson deceased was produced to me in court and proven by the oaths of Thos. BAYERS and George SNADON (?) subscribing witnesses thereto to be the act and decd. hand and seal of the said John Thompson, Deceased and ordered to be committed to record in testimony whereof and that this will together with this certificate are truly recorded in my office of the county court for the county aforesaid.
