Scobee, 73, who died suddenly Monday afternoon at her home on Lexington Avenue, will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 O'clock at the grave in the Winchester Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Rev. O. B. Crockett, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and Rev. Adolphus Gillian, pastor of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Casketbearers will be J. C. Gaitskill, David Gaitskill, Julian Bratton, J. C. Scobee, R. M. Scobee, Thomas Sutton, Gilliam Scobee, and Dunlap Bratton. Mrs. Scobee, the mother of Mayor David Scobee, was stricken, shortly after noon Monday and passed to rest a short time while later. Before her marriage she was Miss Dee Bratton. She was born and reared in Clark County and was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Surviving her are her husband, Judge R. S. Scobee; her son, Mayor David Scobee; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Hart, Winchester; and Miss Lena Bratton, Mt. Sterling; a grandson Dr. Robert Hughes Scobee, and a great-granddaughter, Sarah Francis Scobee. The City Hall will remain closed during the hours of the funeral, it was announced Tuesday afternoon.
