Mrs. R. P. Scobee Microfilm 1925 September-December-From the Clark County 
Library Dies Monday Eve
One of Clark County’s Most Highly Respected Ladies Succumbs to a Complications 
of Diseases
Mrs. R. P. (Martha J.) Scobee, aged 65 years died at her home on East Fairfax 
Street on Monday night about seven o’clock after an extended illness from  a 
complication, immediate cause being an attack of heart trouble.
Mrs. Scobee was a Miss (Martha J.) Chorn before her marriage being the 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chorn of this county and had resided in this city 
and county all of her life and was one of Winchester’s most highly respected 
Ladies. She was well liked by everyone on account of her generous and kind 
disposition and leaves a host of friends besides many relatives to morn. Her 
mother was a Miss Martha Thompson of this county before her marriage and has a 
wide connection throughout this and adjoining counties.
Besides her husband Mr. R. P. Scobee, she is survived by three sons J. C., 
R. M. and R. F. Scobee all of this city and one daughter, Mrs. David Bratton 
of this city.
The funeral service will be held at the grave in the Winchester Cemetery on 
Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock.
