Kentucky Pages 279 and 280 Smiths to deed Smith This indenture made this 23rd February in the year of our Lord 1852 between Asea Smith and Eliza his wife and Elias Smith and Elizabeth his wife Jabel Smith and Rebecca his wife, Thomas J. Smith and Cinthia his wife of the County of Clay and Commion wealth of Kentucky of the one part and John Speed Smith of the County & Commion wealth afsd of the other part witnesseth that the Asea Smith and Eliza his wife and Elias Smith and Elizabeth his wife Jabel Smith and Rebecca his wife and Thomas J. Smith and Cinthia his wife for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is here by acknowledged hath given granted, bargained & sold & by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the John Smith his heirs and assigns all of our interest in the following track or parcel of land of the estate of our father Jabel Smith deed situated & begining in the County of Clay on the waters of Martins Creek containing six hundred acres be the same more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances there unto or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the land here by conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said John Speed Smith his heirs & assigns forever and the said Asea Smith and Eliza his wife and Elias Smith and Elizabeth his wife and Jabel Smith and Rebecca his wife and Thomas Smith and Cinthia his wife for them selves, heirs, executors & administrators the aforesaid tract of land & appurtenances unto the aforesaid John Speed Smith his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend by these presents in witness whereof the said Asea Smith together with Eliza his wife and Elias Smith and Elizabeth his wife and Jabel Smith and Rebecca his wife and Thomas Smith and Cinthia his wife who here-by relinguishes their right of dover in and to the lands conveyed in this deed hath here unto set their hands and seal the day and date first above written .
