Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Frank and Pearl Black House. He was a deacon and member of Park Hill Baptist Church; a Mason for 64 years with the McKee Lodge No. 144 F&AM and worked as a brick and stone mason. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was in the Battle of the Bulge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Halcomb House; and sister, Icy. He is survived by his wife, Mae Royce House; daughter, Billie Falkner; granddaughter, Candice Craig; sister, Florence Roney; two great granddaughters, Piper Craig and Parker Craig; and two nieces and one nephew, all who mourn his passing. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007 at the Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Robert Lockhart officiating. there will be no visitation. All arrangements are by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
