Buster State of Kentucky County of Russell On this 31st day of August A.D. 1863, personally appeared before me, S.P. Collins, presiding judge of the Russell County Court, Elizabeth A. Buster, a resident of Clinton County and State of Kentucky, aged twenty nine years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on her oath make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the Act of Congress Approved July 14, 1862; That she is the widow of Michael Buster, who was a Sergeant in Company H, Commanded by Captain Henry S. Taylor, in the 3rd Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, in the war of 1861, who died on the 4th day o January 1863, at or near Murfreesboro Tennessee, of wounds received in the battle of Stone's river, Tennessee on the 31st day of December 1862, while in the service of the United States, and in the line of duty. She further declares that She was married to the Said Michael Buster on the 26th day of April in the year 1855; that her husband the aforesaid Michael Buster died on the day above mentioned, and that She has remained a widow ever Since that period, as will more fully appear by reference to the proof hereto Annexed - She also declares that She has not, in any manner been engaged in or aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States - She states that she has Four children the names, and ages of which at the time of the decease of her said husband are as follows to wit, Charles aged Six years, Josephine aged five years, Lucy Jane aged three years, William M, 2 months; that her said husband has three children by a former wife under Sixteen years of Age, viz. Lewis 15 years, Robert 13 years, Sophia 11 years, all of whom reside in Clinton County Kentucky. Elizabeth A Buster X her mark Also personally appeared Joseph A. Kelsay and William L Buster residents of Russell County and State of Kentucky, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being be me duly sworn, Say that they were present and Saw Elizabeth A. Buster make her mark to the foregoing declaration, and they further swear that they have every reason to believe from the appearance of the applicant and their acquaintance with her that She is the identical person She represents herself to be, and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim. Acknowledgement of Pension Application re Michael Buster Adjutant General's Office Memorandum Washington, D.C. dated November 4th, 1863 Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt from your Office of application for Pension No. 32,432, and to return it herewith, with such information as is furnished by the files of this Office. It appears from the Rolls on file in this Office, that Michael Buster was enrolled on the 11 day of August, 1861, at Camp Nelson in Co. H, 3 Regiment of Kentucky Infty Volunteers, to serve 3 years, or during the war, and mustered into service as a Sergeant on the 8 day of October, 1861, at Camp Dick Robinson in Co. H, 3rd Regiment of Kentucky Infty Volunteers, to serve 3 years, or during the war. On the Muster Roll of Co. H of that Regiment, for the months of Jany & Feby, 1863, he is reported "Killed at the Battle of Stone River December 31st 1862". I am, Sir, very respectfully, Your obedient servant, (Sam G.
