H.E. Dicken, Wreck Victim Last Saturday Herbert Edward Dicken, 39, was killed about 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon, August 25, when the car he was driving ran off the Saloma Road about 4.4 miles from Campbellsville, hitting a bridge. The car turned over, pinning him under the left-side door. He suffered head injuries, neck injuries and facial lacerations. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, August 27, at Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Bohrer and Dr. J. Chester Badgettt in charge. Interment was in Brookside Cemetery. He had been employed in the shipping department of Union Underwear Company for about nine years. Mr. Dicken was born in Clinton County on November 3, 1922, the son of Marion Frank and Molly McFall Dicken. He and his family resided in Campbellsville, but for several years he had lived in the Lone Valley community. He united in marriage to Miss Susie Wolford in 1948. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by four sons, all at home: Johnnie, Ronnie, Jeffrey and Richard Lane Di! cken; four brothers, Paul Dicken, Ray Dicken and Jimmy Dicken, all of this city, and Earl Dicken of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. H.D. Harrison of Route 2, Campbellsville and Mrs. Edgar Sexton of Campbellsville. Pallbearers included Howard Mayes, J.R. Dicken, Donnie Crabtree, James Dicken, Kenneth Sexton and Carlos Beck.
