Obit: Rev. Samuel P. Hulse, d. 1904, Clinton Co.,KY Contributed for use in USGENWEB Archives by: Larry&Laura wright Date: Wed, 19 Jul 2000 13:50:07 -0700 Wayne County Outlook, Monticello Kentucky June 30, 1904 REV. SAMUEL P. HULSE On the 22nd. day of June, 1904, just as the king of day was arising over the eastern hills, the death angel visited the home of Rev. SAMUEL P.HUSE, of Clinton County, and called him from labor to reward. He was born in Washington County, Tenn. Dec. 5, 1835. About 1854 he emigrated to Kentucky where he lived until his death. In his young manhood he professed faith in Christ and united with the M.E. Church, South. Soon afterward he was licensed to preach and spent the remainder of his days in humble service to his master. His last illness was protracted, and he was a great sufferer. But in the midst of it all he was patient and without murmuring. He expressed a desire to remain with his children, but said if God willed otherwise he was ready to go. As the gates of glory drew near he exhorted all to meet him in heaven. gave to each one his parting blessing, and then fell asleep as sweetly as an infant in his mother"s arms. We shall miss his love and counsel and prayers, as we turn our faces again toward life"s battles, but out hearts are buoyant with the hope that white robed and crowned we shall meet him again on the streets of gold.
