C. Dear Sir: Reference is made to your request for the Revolutionary War record of Lawrence Conner, private with the Virginia troops. The data furnished herein were obtained from papers on file in claim for pension, S.35863, based upon service of Lawrence Conner in the War of the Revolution. The date and place of birth of Lawrence Conner, and names of his parents are not given. Lawrence Conner enlisted for two years, and served in Captain Arbuckle's Virginia company, in an expedition against the Shawnee Indians, before the expiration of the two years, he reenlisted for three years, served a private in Captain Andrew Wallace's company in Colonel Wood's Twelfth Virginia Regiment, and in Captain Jewet's company, and in Colonel Campbell's Virginia regiment; during the service he was in the battles of Germantown, Monmouth, Stony Point, Camden, where wounded, and in the battle of Guilford Court House. On account of disability resulting from wounds received in the Revolution, nature of wounds not stated, Lawrence Conner was pensioned from September 4, 1780, then living in Virginia. It was stated that he was a resident of Botetourt County, Virginia at this time. Lawrence Conner was allowed pension on account of his service in the Revolutionary War on his application executed September 14, 1818, at which time he was living in Cumberland County, Kentucky, aged Sixty-five years. Lawrence Conner in 1820 referred to his children - Ester Conner aged thirty years Cornelius Conner aged eighteen years Jinny Conner aged sixteen years Margret Conner aged thirteen years. There was no data in regard to the wife of Lawrence Conner. He died March 17, 1826. Reference was made in 1841 to Cornelius H. Conner, it is not shown that he was identical with the son, Cornelius Conner, referred to above. The papers on file in this claim contain no further discernible family data.
