"Mr. JAS. HERRIFORD, one of the best known citizens of Cumberland county, died at his home in Burkesville last Monday. Mr. Herriford was one of the most prominent men of his section, and was in every sense of the word a splendid citizen. He was at one time Sheriff of Cumberland, and was one of the solid and leading men of that county. His death is sincerely regretted by all who knew him. "Mr. Herriford was the father of Mrs. Al Baker of this place, and Mr. and Mrs. Baker left for Cumberland imemdiately upon receipt of the news of his death."
