He was born June 30, 1961 to Lois Harris Brown and the late Hall Lee Harris. Sammy graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1980 and was a Veterna of the US Army. He was employed at various times as a tree trimmer, factory worker and welder. He was also an excellent electrician and plumber. He pursued lifelong interests in the fields of Aeronautics and Astronomy and was extremely knowledgable in these fields. He was also an avid cat lover, leaving behind his beloved kitties, Sprite and Punkin. He is survived by his loving companion, Joyce Kee Harris, mother Lois Estep Brown, paternal grandmother, Iva Jewel Harris, brothers, Thomas Hall Harris and Mickel Edward Harris, all of Burkesville, sisters, Rebecca Lee Smith of Horse Cave and Holly Jo Harris of Livermore. Also surviving are his uncle, Thomas Earl (Zip) Harris, niece, Jessica Ann Harris, both of Burkesville, and niece, Lori Nicole Price of Glasgow. No visitation was held at the funeral home. Final resting place for his cremated remains will be in the Estep family cemetery in Eubank, Kentucky. Sammy's close family gathered Sunday afternoon, October 12, 2003 at Veteran's Park in Burkesville and held a short service and a picnic in remembrance of him.
