"Mrs. J. H. C. Sandidge Dead. Mrs. Sandidge, the beloved wife of Hon. J. H. C. Sandidge, of Burkesville, died suddenly at her home in that place ___ night of last week. Mrs. Sandidge was one of the most estimable of ladies, a devoted wife, mother, Christian and friend. Few men are more widely known, and more generally esteemed and beloved than Hon. J. H. C. Sandidge, and the deepest sympathy of a host of friends goes out to him in his affliction. The last issue of the Burkesville Herald contains the following in regard to the death of this beloved and excellent lady: "Mrs. Sandidge was well enough to be in town Friday, when she interested herself with the supper given by her church. That evening a slight boil began to develop on her chin which grew worse very fast. Her children at Glasgow and Russellville were telephoned and her sickness early yesterday morning. The son and daughter residing in Russellville, after driving all night, reached here about five hours after her death. Mr. Toch Sandidge was not in Glasgow, but had been absent for several weeks on business in the West. Mrs. Sandidge was a Christian woman in every respect, being a member of the Methodist church, a true wife, a kind, loving effectionate, and advising mother, always interested in the welfare of her children."
