We the above named Commrs. proceeded as certified in the plot & the within inventory. Given under our hand this 13th March 1837. Abraham DICK John M ALEXANDER, Sr. Saml. RITCHEY In obedience to an order of the County Court of Cumberland County, issued at their December Term 1836 appointing John M ALEXANDER, Saml. RITCHEY and Abraham DICK, Commissioners to lay off and assign Milly GARMON, widow & relict of Harmon GARMON deceased her dower in the real estate of said deceased. We the above named Commissioners appeared this 11th day of February 1837 on the premises of said deceased and proceeded to survey and lay off 36 acres 53/80 poles out of the land deeded by Thos. CRAIG to said GARMON deceased for 120 acres and bounded as follows To wit: Beginning at a lake in an old military line and dividing line between said GARMON & Jas. WADE now George KING. 77 poles from said GARMON's beginning corner, thence new line N54 W74 poles to a planted? rock, thence N81 W40 poles to a black oak at the edge of the plantation at the head of a small drain, thence N30 W37 poles crossing a small branch to two pin oaks & sugar tree in the original line, thence with the same N80 E52 poles to an elm & box elder at the creek, thence down the creek with its meanders S54 E28 poles to an elm on the bank of the same, thence S64 E 94 poles to a hickory on the North bank of said creek corner to the land of ROWLAND's heirs now J P TURNER, thence with an old military line S47 W52 poles crossing the creek to the beginning - including the dwelling house with several other buildings. RITCHEY Cumberland County This day came before me the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace for said county the within named Commissioners and was duly sworn as the law directs. Cumberland County I, Milton King, Clerk of the County Court for said county do certify that the within assignment of dower of real & personal property of Harmon GARMON dec'd to Milly GARMON his widow, was produced in open court at the March Term 1837 and ordered to record.
