Page 1 of 3 This cemetery is about 2 miles out Hwy. 60 W. from Owensboro going toward Henderson. It is located in Bon Harbor Hills, behind Rudy Pond, on Hwy. 60. It is very over grown, and on the verge of being lost due to being on private property, in-accessibility, and not being documented. Trees have fell throughout the cemetery. Vines and weeds are destroying tombstones; many have fallen over and only found by stepping on them. There are many more graves noticeable that have no tombstones. There are possibly a total of 50 - 75 gravesites. There once stood a church with the cemetery, and baptisms were performed in the pond that is on Hwy. 60. This cemetery is important to the history of Daviess County because of the people that worked and lived in this area. They were coal miners and farmers, and lived, worked and raised their families here before and through the depression. Our own Grandparents didn’t move from this area till the late 1950’s. Many local and distant families have descendents in this cemetery and probably have no knowledge of it. Hopefully with this listing, it will help others searching their ancestors along with documenting this cemetery for Kentucky.
