Thomas L Wells, Michael D Wells, Samuel Fuquay and Nancy Fuquay his wife, Coleman Wells of the County of Daviess and State of Kentucky, and William B Wells, Francis Taylor and Martha his wife and Mary Woodside of the County of Henry all heirs of Littleberry Wells also between James Jackson as attorney in fact for the heirs aforesaid and in his individual right and Moses Fuquay in his right he having purchased from of all? Of the heirs aforesaid, all parties of the first party and Isham W Moody of the County of Henry and State of Kentucky of the second part, witnessed that the heirs aforesaid together with the said Jackson as attorney and the said Moses Fuquay parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of dollars in hand paid by the said Isham W Moody party of the second part, and the sum of (blank) dollars to be paid by the said Moody on the day of (blank) in the year (of 1849) have and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell to the said Isham W Moody and his heirs forever all of their interests divided and individual, whither as heirs, attorneys in face, or in any other rights in and to a certain tract in parcel of land lying and being in the County of Henry and State of Kentucky on the h?g? with d??? of Little Kentucky River about 3½ miles south west of New Castle and known as the Wells farm, it being the same land upon Littleberry Wells was living at the time of his death, said land having descended from said Wells and his wife, deceased, to his heirs aforesaid. Said tract of land containing in all about one hundred and sixty acres, all of which interests as above designated the parties of the first party hereby convey unto the said Moody and his heirs to have and to hold unto the said Moody together with all and singular the appurtances thereunto belonging or in any way? appertaining forever. And the heirs aforesaid and the said Jackson so far as his interest extends which is one ninth do warrant to their aforesaid interest convey each against it the claim or claims of any and all persons _______. (unclear) and explained to her that by her act and deed and consented that the same may be recorded and Minerva Jane Wells, wife of Thomas L Wells, Susan F Wells, wife of Michael D Wells, Catherine Wells, wife of Coleman Wells and Catherine Fuquay, wife of Moses Fuquay, the parties herein conveying being examined by us privately and apart from their husbands subscribed and acknowledged the same and therewith their own free will and consent relegated their right to dower in the land herby conveyed by their husbands and together with Nancy Fuquay and the parties hereto certify and acknowledge unto the Clerk of the Henry County Court for record.
