I have a copy of the Original Discharge Paper. He was a Private of Captain J.E. Mattingley's Company "C" Twenty Sixth Regiment of Kentucky Vol. Infantry, he was enrolled on the Nineteenth of October one thousand eight hundred and sixty one to serve THREE YEARS is hereby DISCHARGED from the Service of the United States this Fourth day of September 1862 at Cincinnati, Ohio by reaseon of Surgeons Certificate of Disability (Paralysis of Lower Exremenities) Said Bannister W. Dickens was born in Daviess County in the State of Kentucky is, Twenty Two years of age, five feet three inches high, fair complection, blue eyes, auburn hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Farmer. Given at Cincinnati, Ohio this Fourth day of September 1862. Signed by S. Bermanandy and W. C. Conelly.
