DONALD P. BRATCHER Rev. Donald P. Bratcher, 73, Owensboro, Morganfield native, died Wednesday April 2 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems. A Baptist minister, he was pastor of Lamplite Mission of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He also was the former pastor of Buttons Berry Baptist Church in Island, KY., Pleasant Memorial Baptist Church in Owensboro and Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Calhoun. He was also a jail chaplin at the Daviess County Detention and a U.S. Marine Corps World War II veteran, serving in the 2nd Division. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jodie Maloy Bratcher; two daughters, Dona McCurry of Elizabethtown and Laura Goins of Worthington, PA.; one son, Doug Bratcher of LIberty, MO.; three brothers, David Bratcher of Henderson, Harold Bratcher of Manaus, Brazil, and Charles Bratcher of Frankfort; and nine grandchildren. Services were at 3:30pm Saturday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Thurston, KY. Burial was in the church cemetery.
