Branaman of Bedford died Saturday, September 13, 1997, at Bedford Regional Medical Center. She was born in Bedford on October 1, 1953, the daughter of Carl J. and Mary L. (Tidd) Stapleton. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Carl J. and Norma Stapleton of Cannelton; three sisters, Jane Markham, Nancy Brown, and Mary Alice Simmons, all of Bedford; two stepbrothers, Ricky Tidd of Owensboro KY, and Marvin Tidd of Evansville; four nephews; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, and two brothers, Danny Bailey and Michael D. Stapleton. She was a graduate of Watterson College in Louisville, where she earned a degree as a licensed certified medical assistant. She was a medical assistant for Drs. A.P. Shadwani and R. P. Austin for seventeen years. She was a member of Medora Christian Church, the American Medical Association, and United Ostomy Association. Funeral services for Carla Branaman will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16th, at The Day & Carter Mortuary, with Bro. Stan Thomas and Ralph Turner officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Chapel. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, September 15th, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
