Item 1st I will and bequest to my son Albert G. Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 2nd I will and bequest to my son Allen P. Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 3rd I will and bequest to my daughter Minerva Small one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 4th I will and bequest to my daughter Ruthy Ann Harwood six hundred dollars in the hand of Benjamin P. Yewell as her Trustee and she is to have no more of my estate and I direct her said Trustee to loan the said money out at interest and pay to Ruthy Ann Harwood the interest during her natural life and then to be equally divided between her two Harwood children. Item 5th I will and bequest to my son Benjamin P. Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 6th I will and bequest to my son Benjamin P. Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 7th I will and bequest to my son Algernon S. Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 8th I will and bequest to my son James M. Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 9th I will and bequest to my son Franklin Yewell one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys. Item 10th I give and bequeath Laura L. May formerly Laura L. Montgomery, Alvina P. Thomas, James and Jeremiah Montgomery, children of James Montgomery deceased and of Ruthy Ann Harwood one-ninth part of my Southern Bank of Kentucky stock and of all other moneys to be placed in the hand of Benjamin P. Yewell as their Trustee. The said money to be loaned out at interest until the youngest child becomes of age and not to be used for any purpose whatever unless it be a sufficient sum only to enable them to have a suitable education. Item 11th I wish my four slaves to be disposed of in the following manner, I wish my slave woman, Mary to have the privilege of choosing her own master in the family and in case of a disagreement among my heirs as to her valuation, they shall choose two disinterested persons to value her. Sarah, Adochins, and Fielding, these three I direct to be put up to the highest bidder among my heirs except Algernon S. Yewell, on a twelve-month credit. Item 12th I request the Trustee appointed by me shall execute bond with security in case he refuses to act, his place shall be supplied by an appointment from the proper court. Item 13th I hereby give to me Executor hereinafter named full power to settle fully and completely all business in the estates of the Shirleys(?) in Virginia in which any interest whatever and to convey any and all interest in the lands in which I may have interest in said estates and all their business of every description in my estate. Item 14th I hereby constitute and appoint Benjamin P. Yewell and Algernon S. Yewell Executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this the thirtieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty. Purdy State of Kentucky Daviess County Court June Term 1862 The forgoing writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Jeremiah Yewell deceased was this day produced in Court and duly proven by the oaths of Robert H. Fogle and M. A. Purdy two of the subscribing witnesses thereto. Whereupon was ordered to record of said decedent and the same with this certification has been duly recorded in my office.
