The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** This indenture made and entered into this fifth day of July 1866 between L M HAZELIP of the County of Edmonson and State of Kentucky of the first part and R C HAYSLIP of the County of Barren and State afforesaid of the of the 2nd part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged the party of the first hath this day bargained & sold to the party of the second a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Edmonson and State of Kentucky on the waters of Beaver Dam Creek. Containing one hundred & thirty acres of the same more or less. It being the land sold by Wily JONES to David J W JONES and embracing the entire tract in the Lower Side of Hammes? Branch on the South Side of Beaver Dam Creek and sold by said David J W JONES to L M HAZELIP reserving a sufficiency of land where the Old Mill stood for a mill seat and a road to run up the bluff. To have and to hold the said boundary of land with all the appurtenances thereto belonging free from the claim of myself, my heirs and assigns or from the claim of any and all persons whosoever claiming or making claim thereto and the party of the first part agrees to warrant and defend the same with general warranty in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written. L M HAZELIP {seal} State of Kentucky Edmonson County I, Noah Morris, Clerk of the County Court of Edmonson County in the State of Kentucky do certify that on this day the foregoing deed was produced to me in my office and acknowledged by L M HAZELIP that the signature and seal thereto to be his own voluntary act and deed which deed is duly stamped as required by Act of Congress and that I have recorded it and this certificate in my said office.
