The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** This deed between Elender Madison of the County of Edmonson and State of Kentucky _____? have this day sold to David J W JONES of the same County and State a small piece or parcel of land in Edmonson County on the south side of the Brownsville and Bowling Green Road and adjoining the lands of said roads it being where the Herse? Lot now stands and boundeds follows to wit: beginning on a poplar stump said JONES corner on the side of said road running thence with said road towards Brownsville about 50 or 60 yards to a stone on top of the first rise thence south west a strait (sic) line to said JONES' line just on side of the lot thence to a stone on south line thence with JONES' line to the beginning to have and to hold the same with its appurtenances with general warranties in consideration of the sum of seven dollars & 50 cents in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. Witness our hands this 23rd day of February 1868. his S G x MADISON mark her Elender x MADISON mark State of Kentucky County of Edmonson I, Noah Morris, Clerk of the aforesaid county court do certify that the foregoing deed was produced to me in my office and acknowledged and delivered by S G MADISON to be his act and deed and on the 9th day of May same year Elender MADISON came into my office and signed and acknowledged the same to be her own free act and deed which deed is duly stamped as required by Act of Congress and that I have truly recorded it and this certificate in my said office.
