Mrs. Lady Alice Ashley, 50, Louisville, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday at Louisville General Hospital of a gunshot wound in the chest. Louisville police arrested her husband, Robert Ashley, Louisville, and charged him with willful murder in connection with her death. He is currently being held in Jefferson County Jail without bond. She was an Edmonson County native. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. In addition to her husband, survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cockeril, Louisville; six brothers, Aubrey Cockeril, Leitchfield, and Lloyd, Hugh, Seaton, Tildon and Coy Cockeril, all of Louisville, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Peeler and Mrs. Edna Vincent, both of Louisville."
