Dear Jim and Peace,
	It has bee so long since I have heard from you.  I am wondering if you are all 
allright.  I trust that you both are.
	As for ourselves we have just put in a terrible worried and devestating (sic) 
summer.  I’ve never seen one like it scaraly no rain from May until September, with the 
heat as high as 107 degrees.  I understand from the news papers that Elliott County also 
had very little rain.  I hope you raised more that we did here.  We had no gardens 
whatever, but get plenty shipped in from other parts.  We just seem to linger along in a 
rut, and never go anyplace.  Although we are thankful that we are as well as we are.  My 
daughter Mary Jane was married in April to a young man named Charles M. Hale who is 
attending the university a Lexington.  Jane is here with us and still working in the school.  
In fact she recommeded that I write you.
	I often think of Bud and Laura, Oliver and Susan and all of my people and hope 
that all are well.  Also hope to hear about them when you write.
	My people in Indiana are all well as usual, I hardly ever see any of them, they see 
to be too bussy to come and see me and besides it is of course, a difficult trip.  
	One of Aunt Marys boys Otto, lives in Lexington, and I don’t seem to be able to 
even get up there to see him.
	When I hear from you I will write again.  I hope that you are all well and happy
