Feb 1, 2000 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: two wives, Elsie Mae Pennington Conley and 
Virginia Banks Conley.  Survived: daus, Sharon K. Stevens and Sue G. Dowdy, brothers, Proctor B. 
Conley and David Paul Conley, sisters, Beulah Thompson, Nellie Kelly, Thelma Mason, Laura McClure 
and Fannie Hutchinson, 3 grandsons, 1 g-granddaughter.  Burial: Feb 4, 2000 in the Golden Oaks 
Memorial Gardens.

Nannie Lee Boggs Mauk, 80, of Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, born Mar 17, 1919 in Elliott Co, KY, dau 
of the late Martin Boggs and Mary Francis Holbrook Boggs DeHart, died Jan 27, 2000 Morehead, 
Rowan Co, KY.  Survived: sons, Glen Mauk, Stanley Mauk, Phillip Mauk and Johnny Mauk, dau, Bonnie 
Mauk Gentz, sisters, Maggie Dehart Rogers and Pearl DeHart Sammons, brothers, Ile DeHart and Earl 
DeHart, 9 gc, several g-gc.  Burial: Jan 30, 2000 in the Olive Hill Memorial Cemetery.

Roger Wayne Williams, 53, of Hwy. 172, West Liberty, Morgan Co, KY, born Sept 29, 1946 in Morgan 
Co, son of Avery and Lillian Adkins Williams, died Jan 29, 2000 at his home.  Survived: brothers, 
Gary Williams, Ronnie Williams, Keith Williams and Lanny Williams, sisters Sherry Wilder and 
Shane Patrick, 19 nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews.  Burial: Jan 31, 2000 in the 
Caskey Cemetery, Hwy. 172, Paradise Lane, West Liberty.

Hazel Triplett Miles, 84, of Catlettsburg, Boyd Co, KY, born Apr 23, 1915 in Lawrence Co, KY, dau 
of the late Floyd and Nora Jane Church Triplett, died Jan 24, 2000 at her home.  Preceded: 
husband, Denver "Bo" Miles.  Survived:  sons, James Miles and Glen Miles, dua, Joann Barber, 4 
gc, 10 g-gc, 1 g-g-gc.  Burial: Jan 26, 2000 in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Naomi Baker Stephenson, 83, formerly of Carter Co, KY, born Sept 19, 1916 in Carter Co, dau of 
the late James and Sarah Hail Baker, died Jan 22, 2000 in Bellemeade Nursing Home, in Greenville. 
Preceded: husband, Col. Everette S. Stephenson in 1979.  Survived:  daus, Ellizabeth A. 
Stephenson, Sandra S. McNeil, Nancy C. Edison and Dorothy L Stephenson, 6 gc.  Burial: Jan 27, 
2000 in teh Bentley Cemetery.

Nolda Castle, 94, of Paintsville, KY, born June 3, 1905 in Lawrence Co, KY, dau of the late 
Martin and Mary Brown Castle, died Jan 23, 2000 Paintsville.  Preceded: husband, Monroe Castle, 
sons, Bobby Castle, James Douglas Castle and Floyd Castle, dau, Kathleen Castle.  Survived: daus, 
Garnet Ratliff, Irene Melvin, Louise Melvin, Eva Lee Vanhoose and June Hitch, sons, Carl Castle, 
Dallas Castle and Lester Castle, 37 gc, several g-gc, several g-g-gc, several step-gc.  Burial: 
no date given, burial in the McKenzie Cemetery in Lowmansville.

Mary Alice Wheatley, no age given, of Ashland, Boyd Co, KY, born in Grayson, Carter Co, KY, no 
date given, dau of the late William and Perry Ann Adkins, died Jan 27, 2000 in Flatwoods, KY.  
Preceded: husband, George Wheatley in 1989.  Survived: dau, Sandra Bolen, sister, Letha Fields, 2 
gc.  Burial: Jan 29, 2000 in the Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, KY.

William Ballard Pennington, 71, of Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, born Aug 10, 1928 at Twin Branch, son 
of the late Watt and Nora Ferrell Pennington, died Jan 26, 2000 at his home.  Preceded: wife, 
Emma Faith Nelson Pennington in 1997.  Survived: daus, Joyce Isaac and Nora Jane Lemaster, 
brother, Roy Pennington, 5 gc, 1 foster grandchild.  Burial: Jan 29, 2000 in the Pennington 
Cemetery, Louisa, KY.

Effie I. Morgan Vanover, 89, of Lucasville, OH, formerly of Firebrick, born Apr 22, 1910 in 
Carter Co, KY, dau of the late Harry and Josephine Gilliam Morgan, died Jan 27, 2000 in 
Lucasville.  Preceded: husband, Henan McKinley Vanover in 1973.  Survived: none listed.  Burial: 
Jan 29, 2000 in the Mount Olive Cemetery, Greenup, Greenup Co, KY.

Denver Carter, 87, of South Shore, Greenup Co, KY, born Oct 13, 1912 in Lawrence Co, KY, son of 
the late Harvey and Minnie Deerfield Carter, died Jan 27, 2000 in Portsmouth, OH.  Survived: 
brother, Toney Carter, sisters, Sylvia Dupler, Jean McCoppin and Hildreth Carter.  Burial: Jan

Lillie Tackett Fannin, 86, of Rush, born Nov 5, 1913 in Carter Co, KY, dau of the late Charles C.

Carol Pickrell McCoy, 57, of Raceland, KY, born Oct 31, 1942 at Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, dau of 
Anna Rae Stone Pickrell and the late James Pickrell, died Jan 30, 2000 at her home.  Survived: 
husband, William McCoy Jr., dau, Melinda "Mindy" McCoy, sons, Williamd McCoy III, James M. McCoy,

Clayton Ray Turner, 81, of Elliottville, Rowan Co, KY, born June 11, 1918 in Rowan Co, son of  
the late Claude and Madge Goodan Turner, died Jan 29, 2000 in Lexington, Fayette Co, KY.  
Preceded: son, Clayton Ray Turner Jr.  Survived: wife, Virginia Caudill Turner, sons, Daniel 
Turner and Ronald Turner, daus, Jane Turner Kurtz, Brenda Turner and Joan Turner Walker, brother,
