Beryl C. Kendall, 78, of Ashland, Boyd, KY, born May 24, 1915 in Elliott Co, KY, son 
of the late William A. and Lulla Stamper Kendall, died (no date given) in Bellefonte 
Hospital.  Preceded:  wife, Eulah Mullins Kendall.  Survived:  daus, Mrs. Carlyn Vanover
and Mrs. Ivetta Kazee, son, Rondall Dale Kendall, sister, Lydia Rice, 4 gc.  Graveside 
services:  July 6, 1993 at the Ashland Mausoleum.

Dewey Medford Adkins, 79, of Sandy Hook, Elliott Co, KY, born Oct 2, 1913 in Elliott 
Co, son of the late James and Lillie Blair Adkins, died July 2, 1993 at his home.  
Survived:  wife, Ella Mabry Adkins, sons, Gary Adkins, Dewey Medford Adkins Jr., 
James Rodger Adkins, David Adkins, Earl Adkins and Ronnie Adkins, daus, Mary 
Hammonds, Norma Fay Salyers and Becky Garland, sisters, Agnes Spencer and Mary 
Williams, brothers, Leo Adkins and James Adkins Jr., 9 gc.  Burial:  July 4, 1993 in the 
Adkins Cemetery, Wells Creek, Elliott Co, KY.

Elizabeth Adkins Hanes Hornback, 79, of Clearfield, Rowan Co, KY, born Oct 1, 1913 in 
Elliott Co, KY, dau of the late Charlie and Margaret Cox Adkins, died July 11, 1993 in 
Morehead, Rowan Co, KY.  Preceded:  1st husband, Edgar Hanes in 1959, 2nd husband, 
Clifton Hornback in 1986.  Survived:  sons, Kenneth Hanes, Denvil Hanes and Billy 
Hanes, daus, Margie Combs, Mary Burton, Nelma (yes, Nelma) Riley, Maritta Joyce 
Pennington and Carolyn Marie Harris, brother, Clayton Adkins, sister, Ivory Mae Butler, 
25 gc, 36 g-gc, 2 g-g-gc.  Burial:  July 14, 1993 in the Clearfield Cemetery, KY.

Glenwood Johnson, 77, of Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, born May 19, 1916 in Elliott Co, 
KY, son of the late Jess and Nancy Harper Johnson, died June 27, 1993 in Lexington, 
Fayette Co, KY.  Survived:  wife, Lena Cox Johnson, sons, Keen Johnson, Roger Clell 
Johnson, Jerry Johnson and Charles Johnson, daus, Mageline Adkins, Helen Maggard 
and Mary Kiser, brother, John Harper, 24 gc, 17 g-gc.  No burial info given.  Leslie A. 
Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill in charge of arrangements.

Lillie Christine Adkins Salyers, 76, of Isonville, Elliott Co, KY, born Oct 24, 1916 in 
Elliott Co, dau of the late James Adkins and Florence Fannin Adkins, died July 13, 1993 
in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded:  husband, George Glen Salyers.  Survived:  sons, 
Tommy Salyers, Danny Salyers and Joe Salyers, dau, Nola Ruth Litton, 8 gc, 8 g-gc, 
brother, Kermit Adkins, sisters, Hattie Whitt, Ann Weddington, Minnie Lyon, Faye 
Blevins, Fern Adkins and Sue Whitt.  Burial:  July 15, 1993 in the Elliott County 
Memory Gardens, Sandy Hook, Elliott Co, KY.
