Worth Cox, 79, of Gimlet, KY, born Aug 16, 1920 at Gimlet, KY, son of the late Willie and Mollie 
Gray Cox, died July 12, 2000 at his home.  Preceded: brothers, Wilburn Cox, Wendell Cox and 
Willie F. Cox, sister, Mildred Rose.  Survived: wife, Ethel B. Whitt Cox, sons, Jimmy Cox and 
James Ray Cox, dau, Rosetta Gaye Elliott, brother, Columbus Cox, sisters, Lavona Cox, Ramona 
Nickels, Evelyn Coleman and Christine Daulton, 3 gc.  Burial: July 14, 2000 in the Whitt

James E. "Buddy" Roar, 74, of Raceland, KY, born Oct 4, 1925 at Grahn, Carter Co, KY, son of the 
late Manford and Minne Vanlandingham Roar, died July 16, 2000 at his home.  Survived: wife, Julia 
Sturgill Roar, daus, Beverly Waddell, Regina Young and Toni King, sister, Bernadean Carroll, 
brother, Edward Roar, 5 gc, 2 g-gc.  Burial: July 19, 2000 in the Biggs Hill Cemetery, Carter Co, 
KY.

Deloris Adkins Douglas, 60, of Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, born Apr 18, 1940 at Halderman, Rowan 
Co, KY, dau of the late Homer and Thurley Hogge Adkins, died July 16, 2000 at her home.  
Survived: husband, Ronnie Douglas Sr., daus, Wanda Kay Douglas Parker, Annia Douglas Wilson and 
Kathy Douglas Adams, sons, Ronnie Douglas Jr. and Kevin Douglas, sisters, Kay Baldwin, Carolyn 
Sue Stiles and Judy Messer, brothers, Bobby Joe Adkins and Roscoe Hogge, several gc.  Burial: 
July 19, 2000 in the Bradley Cemetery.

Edith Jordan Young, 77, of Fort Gay, WV, born Oct 12, 1922 in Lawrence Co, KY, dau of the late 
Orision and Mary Miles Jordan, died July 16, 2000 at her home.  Preceded: husband, Ernest Young 
in 1984.  Survived: daus, Martha Zimmerman, Elizabeth Conley and Eva Thompson, son, Dexter Young, 
half-brother, James Jordan, 15 gc, 10 g-gc.  Burial;\: July 19, 2000 in the Kirby Flats Cemetery, 
Boyd Co, KY.

David Cline, 72, of Morehead, Rowan Co, KY, born June 13, 1928 in Carter Co, KY, son of the late 
Leonard and Cordie Barker Cline, died July 14, 2000 at his home.  Preceded: son, Roland Gene 
Cline.  Survived: sons, Greg Cline and Mark Cline, daus, Linda St. George and Tammy Miller, 
sister, Jewell Burton, 9 gc, 5 g-gc.  Burial: July16, 2000 in the Porter Cemetery.

James Kelly Vanhoose, 55, of Lowmansville, born Dec 12, 1944 in Lawrence Co, KY, son of the late 
Hercie and Verna Davis Vanhoose, died July 14, 2000 at his home.  Survived: wife, Patricia 
Borders Vanhoose, dau, Sandy Castle, Kristy Vanhoose and Melissa Davis, sisters, Barbara Church 
and Elizabeth Phillips, 2 gc.  Burial: July 16, 2000 in the Vanhoose Cemetery, Lowmansville, 
under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY.

Buford Alex Maxie, 48, of Martha, Lawrence Co, KY, born Mar 12, 1952 at Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, 
son of Imogene Reeves Maxie and athe late Woodrow Maxie, died July 14, 2000 at his home.  
Survived: wife, Myrtle Salyers Maxie, son, Alex William Maxie, brothers, Anthony W. Maxie and

dau of the late Andrew J. and Nora Kendall Williams, died July 14, 2000 in Owingsville, Bath Co, 
KY.  Preceded: 1st husband, Otis Brooks in 1944, 2nd husband, Oliver Wilson in 1988, dau, Vada 
Caudill in 1992.  Survived: sons, Ronnie Jack Brooks and Kenneth A. Wilson, daus, Linda Kidd and 
Ina Harper, brothers, Wilburn "Bill" William, Hobert Williams and Clayton Williams, sisters, 
Verna Rouse and Norma Trent, 11 gc, 9 g-gc, 2 step-g-gc.  Burial: July 17, 2000 in teh G.W. Hall 
Cemetery, Morehead, KY.

John J. Reznar, 86, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born Jun 15, 1914 in Chicago, Ill., son of the 
late John and Theresa Gasper Reznar, died July 11, 2000 in Grayson, KY.  Preceded: wife, Phyllis 
Ferone Reznar.  Survived: sons, John g. Reznar and Robert Reznar, daus, Carol Rucker and Nancy 
Kozee, 13 gc, 6 g-gc.  "Memorial services will be conducted at a later date", burial in the All 
Saints Cemetery, Des Plains, Ill.

Florence Carter Jorgenson, 83, of Greenup, Greenup Co, KY, born Oct 31, 1916 at Louisa, Lawrence 
Co, KY, dau of the late Sam and Flora Brown Carter, died July 11, 2000 in Hindman.  Preceded: 
husband, Lessie Jorgenson.  Survived: dau, Dorothy Lawson, son, Manley Derrington, sister, Martha 
Ison, brother, Ora Jay Carter, 6 gc, 1 g-gc.  Burial: in the Bishop-Green Cemetery, Greenup, KY.

Helen Louise Lowe Williams, 77, of Bellville, OH, born Sept 25, 1922 in Carter Co, KY, dau of the 
late Warren and Mary Lowe, died July 11, 2000 at her home.  Preceded: husband, Murl E. Williams. 
Survived: dau, Pat Nolan, brother, Beny Lowe, sisters, Geraldine Owens, Eulah James, Wilma Jean 
Montgomery and Polly Webb, 5 gc, 10 g-gc.  Burial:  July 14, 2000 in the Pleasant Valley Cemetey,

Delmar Lewis Hammond, 76, of Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, born Jan 30, 1924 at Louisa, son of the 
late Clifford and Maida Salmons Hammond, died July 10, 2000 at his home.  Survived: wife, Gloria 
Mae Thoman Hammond, daus, Sandra Lyon, Maysel Cook, Julia Hammond, Peggy Drake, Alisa Mae Barker 
and Susan Ann Bowen, sons, Delman Keith Hammond, Marlin Christopher Cox and James Gordon Cox,

Betty Jo Kibbey Burnett, 69, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born May 5, 1930 at Grayson, dau of  the 
late Virgil and Jewell Fossitt Kibbey, died July 10, 2000 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: 
husband, Clyde Burnett in1972.  Survived: daus, Elaine VanNess and Patty Stephens, son, Clyde 
Burnett, sister, Iona Clark, brothers, Orville Kibbey, Nearia Kibby and Carl Kibbey, 6 gc, 2 
g-gc.  Burial: July 15, 2000 in the Ramey Cemetery.

Agnes Bellamy Rogers, 79, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born Feb 9, 1921 in Carter Co, KY, dau of 
the late William M. and Mary Susan Seagraves Bellamy, died July 9, 2000 in Morehead, Rowan Co, 
KY.  Preceded: 1st husband, Hubert Rogers, 2nd husband, Emerson Wilburn, dau, Berniece Rogers 
Virgin, son, Larry Rogers.  Survived: brother, Robert Bellamy, 5 gc, 3 g-gc.  Burial: July 12, 
2000 in the East Carter County Memorial Gardens, Grayson, KY.

Betty Bellamy Beuk Fontaine, 77, of Wytheville, VA, formerly of Ashland, Boyd Co, KY, born Dec 
31, 1922 in Carter Co, KY, dau of the late William Bellamy and Mary Susan Bellamy Isaacs, died 
June 29, 2000 in Wytheville, VA.  Preceded: 1st husband, Vladimir Beuk, 2nd husband, James 
Fontaine.  Survived: daus, Suzanne Beuk Scott-Clingumpeel and Vanessa Beuk Elliott, brother, 
Robert Bellamy, 7 gc, 2 g-gc.  "Funeral services were conducted in VA."  No futher information.
