Howard.  Survived, wife, Dora Mae Thornsberry Howard, sons, David Howard, Bobby Howard, Bennie 
Howard and Rober Howard, daus, Brenda Silber and Peggy Blair, sister, Eva Johnson, 12 gc.  
Burial: June 14, 2000 in the Howard Cemetery, Sandy Hook, KY.  Pallbearers: Jeffery Todd Howard,

Hazel Sparks McGinnis, 78, of Richmond, formerly of Sandy Hook, Elliott Co, born June 18, 1921, 
dau of the late Francis Marion Sparks and Linda Jane Sparks, died June 9, 2000 in Richmond.  
Preceded: husband, Merle McGinnis in 1973, sisters, Mavis Neff and Gladys Blevins.  Survived: 
daus, Marilyn Sue White and Carolyn Lou Ison, brothers, Ottis Sparks, Bert Spatrks, Conn Sparks 
and Crate Sparks, sisters, Goldie Dickson and Gaythel Muterspaw, grandchildren, Eric White, Jason 
White, Daniel Ison and Stephen Ison, great-grandchildren, Zakary White, Madison White, Allison 
Ison and Micah Ison.  Burial: June 11, 2000 in the Elliott County Memory Gardens, Sandy Hook, KY.

Glinna Nickels Simmons, 83, of Flemingsburg, Fleming Co, KY, born Sept 5, 1916 in Elliott Co, KY, 
dau of the late James and Bertha Stephens Nickels, died June 12, 2000 in Flemingsburg, KY.  
Preceded: husband, Lewis F. Simmons in March, 2 sisters, 1 brother.  Survived: daus, Nellie 
Martin, Ada Ford and Litha Reeder, sons, Elwood Simmons, Albert Simmons, Donald Simmons and Lewis 
Simmons Jr., sisters, Virginia Cahill, brothers, Robert Nickels, James Nickels, Dewey Nickels, 
Roy Nickels and Oney Nickels, 28 gc, 33 g-gc.  Burial: June 15, 2000 in the Mount Carmel 
Cemetery.

Willard Arthur Catron, 80, of Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, born Oct 13, 1919 in Carter Co, son of 
the late George and Pearl Mabry Catron, died June 10, 2000 in Morehead, Rowan Co, KY.  Survived: 
wife, Carma Parish Catron, dau, Darlene Roe, brothers, Alvin Catron, Ray Catron, Austin Catron 
and Garner Catron, sisters, Ada Bond, Velma Stamper, Virgina Caudill and Etta Jones.  Burial: 
June 12, 2000 in teh Catron Cemetery.

Darrell Kennion Bailey, 65, of Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, born Jan 12 1935, son of the late 
Sherman and Carrie Cook Bailey, died June 9, 2000 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Survived: wife, Fern 
McGinnis Bailey, son, Randall E. Bailey, dau, Rita Bailey Madden, brother, Jack H. Bailey, 
sisters, Freda Easterling, Marta Blevins, Jean Biggs and Rethel Hamilton, 3 gc.  Burial: June 11, 
2000 in the Olive Hill Memorial Park.

Owen Dempsey Wicker, 70, of Dayton, OH, born Oct 6, 1929 in Carter Co, KY, son of the late 
Burnice and Bessie Roark Wicker, died June 8, 2000 in Dayton, OH.  Preceded: wife, Bessie Mae 
Cornwell Wicker in 1998.  Survived: son, Allan Dale Wicker and Lance Sable Wicker, sisters, 
Eileen Phillips, Geneva Berry, Billie Sparks, Janet Boyd and Toni Shoup.  Burial: June 11, 2000 
in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Carter Co, KY.

Minnie Hayes Preston, 80, of Westwood, KY, born Nove 11, 1919 in Lawrence Co, KY, dau of the late 
Harrison and Sarah Jane Dixon Hayes, died June 7, 2000 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: son, 
Charles Harrison Preston in 1939, dau, Susan Preston Broughton in 1999.  Survived: husband, Earl 
Preston, sons, Freddie Earl Preston, and David Gregory Preston, dau, Myla Adkins, brothers, Homer 
Hayes and Walter Hayes, sisters, Ros Marie Hayes, Sylvia Cremeans and Anna Reinhart, 10 gc, 10

Howard Hall, 75, of Paintsville, Lawrence Co, KY, born Oct 26, 1924 in Lawrence Co, son of the 
late Wiley V. and Cinda Ann Williams Hall, died June 7, 2000 in Paintsville, KY.  Survived: daus, 
Diane Baker, Debra Hall, Deidra Hall and Denise Hall, brother, Earl Hall, sister, Doris Ann 
Worley, 12 gc, 4 g-gc, special friend, Mabel Hall.  Burial: June 9, 2000 in the Becky Cemetery, 
Flat Gap, KY.

Ray Junior Eulett, 46, of Vanceburg, Lewis Co, KY, born May 23, 1954 in Grayson, Carter Co, KY, 
son of Junior and Darlene Richmond Eulett, died June 6, 2000 in Morehead, Rowan Co, KY.  
Survived: wife, Carolyn Roy Eulett, dau, Lisa Kay Caudill, sons, Timothy Ray Eulett and Quentin 
Ray Eulett, brother, William Stanley eulett.  Burial: June 9, 2000 in teh Horseley Cemetery, in 
Laurel.

Edna Hay Wallin, 86, of Catlettsburg, Boyd Co, KY, born June 23, 1913 in Lawrence Co, KY, dau of 
the late Henry and Pearlie Phillips Hay, died June 6, 2000 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: 
dau, Jo Wallin McPeek.  Survived: husband, Fred Wallin, sons, Freddy Wallin and Tony Wallin, 
brothers, Clayton Hay and Eugene Hay, sister, Roberta Fyffe, 6 gc, 4 g-gc.  Burial: June 9, 2000 
in the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy Marie Sawdey King, 79, of Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, born Sept 1, 1920 at Bellingham, WA, 
dau of the late Ray and Mena Graham Sawdey, died June 5, 2000 in Louisa.  Preceded: husband, Paul 
L. King in 1974.  Survived: daus, Sandi Roberts, Judy Deel and Susie Matney, sisters, Lorraine

Park, Pikeville, KY.		

Morton H. "Bump" Bradley, 84, of Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, born  Apr 20, 1916 at Louisa, son of 
the late Millard and Virgie Large Bradley, died Juen 5, 2000 in Louisa.  Preceded: son, Larry 
Wade Bradley.  Survived: wife, Virginia M. Bradley, brother, Milton Bradley.  Burial: June 7, 
2000 in theYatesville Memorial Gardens, Louisa, KY.

Violet Pearl Pelfrey Wilson, 82, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born Oct 14, 1917 in Rowan Co, KY, 
dau of the late Charles Newton and Vida Emmezet Mauk Pelfrey, died June 5, 2000 at her home.  
Preceded: husband, Russell Wilson, dau, Joan Wilson Wall Montgomery.  Survived: dau, Loretta 
Wilson Wall, brothers, brothers, George Ivan Pelfrey, Charles Junior Pelfrey and Henry Othel

Glenn Edward Bush, 60, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born Sept 2, 1939 at Grayson, son of Mildred 
Williams Riffe and the late Larry Bush, died June 5, 2000 at his home.  Survived: wife, Brenda 
Kay Stevens Bush, son, Micheal Barrett Bush, daus, Toni Renee Jobe and Courtney Brooke Dunn, 
brothers, Joe Bush, Larris Bush, Ron Bush, Bill Bush and Roy Bush, 6 gc.  Burial: June 8, 2000 in 
the East Carter County Memory Gardens, Grayson, KY.

Lewis R. Musser, 63, of Portsmouth, OH, formerly of Greenup Co, KY, born Sept 17, 1936 in Carter 
Co, KY, son of the late Charles C. and Dessel Iona Sanders Musser, died June 5, 2000 in 
Portsmouth, OH.  Preceded: wife, Ilene Musser.  Survived: sons, Roscoe Musser, Gary Musser, 
Melvin Musser, Homer Musser and David Musser, step-dau, Glenna Justice, brothers, Charles Musser 
and Newton Musser, sisters, Pearl Maddix, Emma Madden, Elizabeth Brown and Hazel Henderson, 
several grandchildren.  Burial: June 8, 2000 in the Everman Cemetery, Grayson, Carter Co, KY.

Ezra Fraley, 75, of Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY, born Nov 9, 1924 in Martin Co, KY, son of the late 
John Henry Fraley and Zelda Meade Fraley Preece, died June 4, 2000 in Louisa.  Preceded: 
step-father, James Preece, son, James Harvey Fraley.  Survived: wife, Ruby Pauley Fraley, daus,

Kathleen Dinkens Rucker, 85, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born Dec 5, 1914 at Rush, KY, dau of the 
late Jim and Effie Barber Dinkens, died June 4, 2000 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: husband, 
Raleigh Carman Rucker in 1993.  Survived: sons, Lester Rucker, Clyde Rucker, Luther Ray Rucker 
and Sam Rucker, daus, Mary Rucker and Sharon White, sister, Della Horton, brother, Tobie Dinkens, 
several gc and g-gc.  Burial: June 6, 2000 in the Coalton Community Cemetery.

Geraldine Boshers Jones, 60, of Martha, Lawrence Co, KY, born Mar 30, 1940 at La Follette, TN, 
dau of the late George William and Eula Smith Boshers, died June 4, 2000 at her home.  Survived: 
husband, David Jone, sons, Frank Jones and Billy Ray Jones, daus, Mary Ann Jones and Tammy Lynn 
Jones, sisters, Martha Mae Greenwood, Blanche Patterson and Lucy Ballenger, 17 gc.  Burial: June 
7, 2000 in the Jones Cemetery, Keaton, KY.
