Ellis “Junior” Ison, 50, of Washington Courthouse, OH, born Jan 28, 1949 in
Elliott Co, KY, son of Della Pennington Kelly and the late Ellis Ison, died
Sept 17, 1999 in Ross Co, OH (truck-train accident).  Survived: stepfather,
Arville Kelly, wife, Kathy Teets Ison, daus, Annette Day and Amy McCoy,
son, Roger Ison, sisters, Martha Lewis, Chirs Montgomery, Beatrice Pruitt,
Sue Riddle, Joyce Albright and Angie Ison, brothers, Frank Ison, Robert
Ison and Dean Ison, step-sisters, Janet Gullihue and Kathy Carper,
stepbrother, Teddy White, 5 gc.  Burial: Sept 21, 1999 in the
Melledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery in OH.

Wayne J. Canafax, 64, of Stamping Ground, formerly of Globe, Carter Co, KY,
born Feb 20, 1935 in Carter Co, son of the late Cecil and Blanche Bond
Canafax, died Sept 18, 1999 in Morehead, Rowan Co, KY.  Preceded: son,
Jeffery Canafax.  Survived: sons, Lee Allen Canafax,  Michael Wayne
Canafax, Larry Richard Canafax and Raymond Cecil Canafax, daus, Edith Mae
Southworth, Carol Johnson and Margie Miller, sisters, Doris Patrick,
Catherine Miles, and Barbara Jean Royse, 14 gc, 7 g-gc.  Burial: Sept 21,
1999 in the Dean Cemetery, Globe, KY.

Helen Faye Porter, 80, of Marengo, OH, formerly of Webbville, born June 25,
1919 in Webbville, dau of the late John and Ida Berry Thompson, died Sept
18, 1999 at her home.  Preceded: husband, Ralph Porter in 1996, dau, Carol
Murray in 1995.  Survived: daus, Ina George and Marilyn Carson, son, Larry
Porter, 11 gc, 18 g-gc.  Burial: Sept 22, 1999 in the Porter Cemetery,
Grayson, Carter Co, KY.

Glenda Jeanette Tackett Johnson, 46, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born Oct
29, 1952 in Letcher Co, KY, dau of Burnette H. and Rosa M. Meade Tackett,
died Sept 18, 1999 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: husband, James M.
Johnson in 1996.  Survived: son, James M. Johnson III, dau, Rebecca Herbst,
sisters. Linda G. Fields and Sandra Little, brother, Gary W. Tackett, 1
grandson.  Burial: Sept 21, 1999 in the Johnson Cemetery.

Geneva Deal, 74, of Grayson, formerly of Philadelphia, Penn., born May 20,
1924 in Carter Co, KY, dau of the late Hart and Nannie Brown Nunley, died
Sept 18, 1999 in Ashland, Boyd Co, KY.  Preceded: husband, James H. Deal,
sons, Johnnie Deal and Jimmy Deal.  Survived: son, Robert W. Deal,
brothers, James Nunley and Philip Nunley, sisters, Doris Barr, Joann
Morrison and Evelyn Warden.  Memorial services conducted Sept 24, 1999, no
place of burial listed.

Edith Jewell Crum Conn, 69, of Frankfort, KY, formerly of Morehead, Rowan
Co, KY, born Jan 25, 1930 in Rowan Co, KY, dau of the late Charlie and Rosa
DeHart Crum, died Sept 20, 1999 in Lexinton, Fayette Co, KY.  Survived:
son, Roger Allen Conn, dau, Helen Holder, brother Oscar Crum, sister,
Thelma Trent, 4 gc.  Burial: Sept 24, 1999 in the Brown Cemetery, Morehead,
Rowan Co, KY.

Ollie May DeHart, 94, of Portsmouth, OH, formerly of Olive Hill, Carter Co,
KY, born Aug 23, 1905 in Carter Co, died Sept 21, 1999 in Lucasville, OH. 
Survived: son, Bob DeHart, 5 gc, 6 g-gc.  Burial: Sept 24, 1999 in the
Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, KY.

Roy E. Swinford, 67, of Ohio Furnace, OH, born Nov 23, 1931 in Grayson,
Carter Co, KY, son of the late Luther and Daisy Hartman Swinford, died Sept
23, 1999 in Russell, KY.  Survived: wife, Betty Massie Swinford, dau,
Teresa Boll, son, David Swinford, 3 stepsons, Victor Norris, Scott Norris
and Georgia and Chris Norris, stepdaus, Jill Norris Black, Jeanie Mawdy and
Shawnee Norris, 4 gc, 11 step-gc.  Burial: Sept 26, 1999 at the Haverhill
Cemetery.

Elizabeth Shearer Justice, 76, of Grayson, Carter Co, KY, born July 19,
1923 at Grayson, dau of the late John and Goldie Colley Shearer, died Sept
24, 1999 in Russell, KY.  Preceded: husband, William “Bill” Justice Jr. in
1995.  Survived: sons, Jim Justice, Bob Justice and John W. Justice,
sister, Letha Lemaster, 5 gc, 2 g-gc.  Burial: Sept 26, 1999 in the East
Carter County Memory Gardens, Grayson, KY.

James William Granger, 53, of Morehead, Rowan Co, KY, born Sept 2, 1946 in
Edina Minn, son of the late Benjamin and Eleanor Horihan Granger, died Sept
24, 1999 in Morehead, KY.  Survived: wife, Susan Kay Thomas Granger, son,
Devin Benjamin Granger, brother, Bob Granger, sisters, Patty Orgen, Eleanor
Granger and Carol Wrubel.  Burial: Sept 27, 1999 in the Esham Cemetery,
Petersville.

Kathleen Iris Turner Hargis, 86, of Morehead, Rowan Co, KY, born Aug 22,
1913 in Carter Co, KY, dau of the late Claude and Madge Goodan Turner, died
Sept 23, 1999 in Morehead, KY.  Survived: husband, John R. Hargis, sons,
John Hargis Jr, Steve Hargis, Walter Hargis, Jerry Hargis and David Hargis,
daus, Dorothy Hargis, Suzanne Richardson, Sally Malley, Deborah Ormond,
