Earnest H. “Earn” Garvin, 64, of Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, born Dec 8, 1934 in Carter 
Co, KY, son of the late Willie and Lanty Bond Garvin, died Sept 6, 1999 at his home.  
Survived: wife, Cova Garvin, several step-daus, brothers, Paul Garvin, Peter Garvin and 
Bill Garvin, sisters, Mandy Porter, Lena Smith, Sara Kenable, Maude Garvin and 
Georgie Wooten, 1 step-granddaughter, Wanda Dean (whom he raised), several step-

Dr. Roscoe H. Playforth, 89, of Morehead, Rowan Co, KY, born Oct 6, 1909 at Crab 
Orchard, son of the late Henry and Rebecca Harness Playforth, died Sept 6, 1999 at his
