Taken from THE ELLIOTT COUNTY NEWS published on Friday, July 18, 1986 ---------------------------------- Waldo Emerson Ison 1915-1986 Waldo Emerson Ison, 71, Columbus, Ohio, died Thursday, July 3 after a brief illness. Mr. Ison was born June 29, 1915 in Elliott County, a son of Ira Paulus Ison of Stephens and the late Nancy Stapleton Ison. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Tilton Ison; one son, Michael Douglas Ison of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Wendall Ison of Columbus, Milo Ison of Stephens; five sisters, Vesta White of Jackson, Ohio, Pauline Bentley of Columbus, Lorene Riggs of Zanesville, Ohio, Madeline Johnson of Stephens and Claudia Mitchell of Columbus. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at Jerry Spears Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio by Weldon and Horrace Burgess. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery.
