                                   Josh Ison, JR. Dies at 83 years

Funeral services for Josh Ison, Jr. 83, Route 1, Sandy Hook, Ky., who died Monday, January 26,
1981, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy
Hook by Beecher Lewis and Russell Griffith, ministers.  Burial was in the Elliott Co. Memory
Gardens.  Mr. Ison was born May 1, 1897 in Elliott County, a son of Josh Ison, Sr. and Belle
Porter, Ison. He was a retired farmer.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Ison; two daughters,
Mrs. Vivian Frazier of Wyandott, Michigan and Mrs. Bessie Fraley of Oberlin, Ohio; eight
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Josh Ison, Sr. married 1st Cosba Porter daughter of
Barnett Porter and TaBiatha McCarty, Porter. His second wife was Tennessee Belle Porter
daughter of Francis Porter, Sr. and Hester Jane Norval (Francis first wife) Josh Ison and Cosba
Porter had one child, Sarah Porter
