The Elliott County News Friday, June 19, 1987 --------------------------------- Rites said for Elliott Native Harve W. Mobley Morehead - Harve Weddington Mobley, 87, of Washington, DC, a native of Elliott County died Sunday, June 7, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC. He was the son of the late Thomas Thompson and Rachel Reeves Mobley. His wife, Mary Alice Greene Mobley, died in 1978. Mr. Mobley was an Army Veteran of World War I and for 20 years served as administrative assistant to the late U.S. Rep. Carl D. Perkins. He was a Life Master Duplicate bridge player and had won numerous awards and honors in national and international competitions. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Clark Mobley, Laurel, Md., and Harve W. Mobley, Jr., Cincinnati. Three daughters, Joyce Ann Grymes, Wilmington, Del.; Mary Jo Walther, Burlington and Shirley Ruth Parker, Milford, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted Thursday, June 11, at Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook with Rev. Charlie VanSant officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals of Morehead was in charge of arrangements.
