Nulah Stafford, 78, of Sandy Hook, died Tuesday at her home.  Mrs. Stafford was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Ed and Laura Ison Stevens.  Her husband Burl Stafford, preceded her in death.  She was a retired restaurant owner and a member of the Baptist Church.  Surviving are a daughter Catherine Wells of Sandy Hook; a sister, Josie Lewis of Sandy Hook; a brother, Clyde Stevens of Sandy Hook; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by the Rev. Tommy Fraley.  Burial will be in the Stevens Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. 
              
              My (Debbie’s) note: Nulah Virginia Stevens, (full maiden name) married 1. 
Bill Young Manning, and was also preceded in death by a son, Berlin Frances Manning. 
Her daughter's full name was Laura Catherine Manning, married 1. Glenn Joe Simmons of Elliott County, 2. Robert Wells, also of Elliott County.
