Obit of Johnie C. Smith, 1930 - 1999

"Johnie C. Smith, 69, of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Elliott County, died Friday at his home.  Mr. 
Smith was born April 12, 1930, in Bruin, a son of the late Floyd and Mrytle Thornsberry Smith.
Three sons, Randy Smith, Dale Smith and Joey Smith, also preceeded him in death.  He was a 
retired foundryman at Ford Motor Co's Brookpark Plant.  Surviving are his wife, Bernice Ison 
Smith; four sons, Terry Smith, Steve Smith, Clint Smith and Harlan Smith, all of Lorain; six 
brothers, Cecil Smith and Dan Smith, both of Dayton, OH, David Smith of Altoona, PA, and Paul 
Smith, Mike Smith and Joe Smith, all of Elliott County; four sisters, Pauline Stapleton of 
Isonville, Jewel Salyers of Columbus, OH, Judy Smith of Dayton and Sue Smith of Elliott County; 
10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday 
at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by the Rev. Dan Smith. Burial will be in the Ison 
family cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral 
Home in Lorain and after 6 p.m. Sunday at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home".
