Virginia Ruth Todd, 75, of Sandy Hook, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at 
her home. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Jan. 30, 1923, a daughter of 
the late Leslie Blanton and Lula Eldridge. She was a retired teacher and 
librarian, formerly employed by the Pike County School System, past 
president of the Pike County Librarians Association, past president of 
Wesleyan Missionary Society, and a member of the Wells Creek Enterprise
Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Drexel B. Todd; two sons,
Leslie Everett "Jody" Todd of Hardy, Drexel B. Todd Jr. of Savannah, Ga.;
two daughters, Betty Ruth (Mrs. Dale) Duvall of Sandy Hook, Luana 
(Mrs. Walter) Rutherford of Huddy; one sister, Mary Evelyn Short of 
Altavista, Va.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one
stepgranddaughter. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 
in the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Clavis Adkins and Joe 
Gilliam officiating. Burial followed in the Todd Cemetery, Sandy Hook. 
Arrangements were under direction of Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home of
Sandy Hook.
