Obit. Of Virginia Ruth Todd Submitted by Samone Ratcliff < samone@mis.net Nov 15, 1999 Taken from The Morehead News Virginia Ruth Todd, 75, of Sandy Hook, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at her home. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Jan. 30, 1923, a daughter of the late Leslie Blanton and Lula Eldridge. She was a retired teacher and librarian, formerly employed by the Pike County School System, past president of the Pike County Librarians Association, past president of Wesleyan Missionary Society, and a member of the Wells Creek Enterprise Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Drexel B. Todd; two sons, Leslie Everett "Jody" Todd of Hardy, Drexel B. Todd Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; two daughters, Betty Ruth (Mrs. Dale) Duvall of Sandy Hook, Luana (Mrs. Walter) Rutherford of Huddy; one sister, Mary Evelyn Short of Altavista, Va.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one stepgranddaughter. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Clavis Adkins and Joe Gilliam officiating. Burial followed in the Todd Cemetery, Sandy Hook. Arrangements were under direction of Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home of Sandy Hook.
