Will of John W. Gillum Transcribed by Samone Ratcliff on July 18, 2000 Will Book 1, page 109 Burke, KY Aug. 27, 1948 I, John W. Gillum of Burke, Elliott County, Kentucky, being of lawful age, sound mind, memory and understanding, do herein make my last will and testament in manner and form as follows: First- I hereby grand and bequeath to my children all my property both personal and real, lands, mortgages, notes, cash, and household goods or any and all of my belongs to be divided as specified. Names of children follow: (1) Virgil M. Gillum (2) Thrusa Gillum (3) Wince Gillum (4) Merida Gillum (5) Harve Gillum (6) Ned Gillum (7) Anna Gillum (8) Mary Gillum (9) J.D. Gillum (10) Frank Gillum (11) Albert Gillum (12) Henry Gillum (13) Lula Gillum and (14) Clara Ellen Gillum. Second- After Clara Ellen Gillum receives four hundred dollars ($400.00) from my estate, then she and all my other children named above will receive share and share alike. I further specify that the home graveyard is not to be sold. Third- I hereby and herewith make and appoint my son, Wince Gillum, my administrator and executer without bond. To sue, and be sued, sell, transfer and set over, loan or dispose of any and all of my property, both personal and real as his judgement would suggest. It is hereby understood and agreed that my executor, Wince Gillum, beginning from by death is to take over and assume full control of all of my cash, bonds, mortgages, notes and all other belongings which I possess at the time of my death, and control and handle same as he thinks to the best interest of all my heirs mentioned above name. Me executor, Wince Gillum, shall receive a reasonable compensation for all service rendered in administering and handling the business of my estate.
