Campbell, Margaret Campbell, Audley Campbell, Rachel Hendricks, Pleasant Noland, Stephen E. Noland, William Campbell and Margaret Fletcher To the Honorable Judge of the Estill Circuit Court in chancery setting. Your oratrix Lucinda Hughes humbly complaining represents to your honor. That in the year 1820 or 1821, Thomas Campbell the father of your oratrix departed this life intestate in Estill County, Kentucky, having the legal title to and in possession of a valuable tract of land lying on the Kentucky River about three miles above irvine, and which is now in the possession of one of his sons, and your oratrix's brother Andrew D. Campbell, and said Campbell has been in possession of said land and in the enjoyment of the rents and profits of the same, ever since the death of his father Thomas Campbell. The said Thomas Campbell was also the owner of considerable estate and money, which will appear in part from inventory and sale bill of his estate, recorded in the clerk's office of the Estill County Court, copies of which are referred to as part of this bill. Thomas Campbell left the following widow and heirs: Margaret Campbell his widow, Andrew D. Campbell, Audley Campbell, and his daughter your oratrix, Rachel Campbell who married Pleasant Noland and by him had two sons, Pleasant Jr., and Stephen E. Noland, and her said husband then died, since which she has married one Allen Hendricks, and by him had children whose names are unknown to your oratrix, and then said Allen Hendricks died, and said Rachel is now his widow, also a daughter Margaret Campbell who married Zachariah Fletcher, said Fletcher is dead. The said Rachel Hendrick and her childre, William Campbell and Margaret Fletcher are non-residents of kentucky. The widow of Thomas Campbell aforesaid has had her dower assigned to her on the estate of her deceased husband. Your oratrix (Lucinda) further charges that about ten years ago (1826) her (Lucinda's) husband, Hudson Hughes left Estill County, kentucky where he resided until his death and where your oratrix has since resided to the present time, she being now a resident of the state of Illinois, and the widow of said Hudson Hughes with nine (9) children in great poverty. The land which decended to the heirs of Thomas Campbell deceased, and in the possession of said Andrew D. Campbell is worth $2500 or $3000. Your oratrix is intitled to one sixth part of said land, there being six children and heirs at-law of Thomas Campbell deceased. The lands were never divided amon his heirs, but have been held and possessed by said Andrew D. Campbell. As a final hearing she prays for general relief. This day Stephen Noland appeared before me as attorney at-law and in fact for the complainant and made oath that the heirs on the foregoing bill as specified. 19th May 1846. William G.
