Heinemann Written: 1820 Will of John Daughhetee Made 14 Mar 1820; Proved May Court 1820 Estill County, KY Will Book A, pg 108 In the name of God Amen; I, John Daughhetee, Estill County and State of Kentucky, being in a weak and low state of health, but of sound and disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and the certainty of death, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, towit: First: I will and bequeath my soul to God who gave it hoping for eternal life and happiness through my redeemer, Jesus Christ, and body I bequeath to the earth to be entered in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors thereinafter named not doubting but I shall receive it again at the last day through the resurrection. Secondly: I will and bequeath to my beloved wife, Nancy Daughhetee in lieu of her dower one bay horse, name Sampson, and one hundred dollars in money so soon as the same can be raised out of my estate after my decease to her and her heirs and assigns forever and the aforesaid do say it is my will and desire that she shall receive in lieu or her dower as aforesaid. Thirdly: My will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate. Fourthly: I will and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann Horsely and William Horsely, her husband, five shillings to them and their heirs forever. 5th: I will and bequeath to my daughter Rachel Darnold and Thomas Darnold her husband, five shillings, to them and their heirs forever. 6th: I will and bequeath to my son in law, William Meadows, five shillings, to him and his heirs forever. 7th: I will and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Mark and Robert Mark her husband, five shillings, to them and their heirs forever. 8th: I will and bequeath to my sons, Moses Daughhetee and William Daughhetee, five shillings, to them and their heirs forever. And lastly, I will and bequeath to my sons Isaac Daughhetee, Thomas Daughhetee, Joel Daughheee, and to my daughter, Sally Fisher, all my real estate with its appurtenances all the rest of my personal estate, goods and chattels, debs, &c, to be equally divided and distributed amongst them, to have and to hold the same to them and their heirs and assigns forever. I hereby appoint my sons, Issaac Daughheee and William Daughhetee executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me at any time heretofore made. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal at my house on Cow Creek in Estill County, this 14 day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty.
