Edgecomb NC. Unclear when he emigrated to KY, but his first purchase of property was 9 July 1788: 100 acres on Hickman Creek from Wm. & Susannah Hays [DB E-465]for 55 Lbs. After additional purchases of land over the years (and presumably some sales), by 1838 Baker had accumulated some 300 acres. The inscriptions are a compilation. The first survey may have been conducted as early as the 1940s by DAR.
