She and her sister Catherine were the daughters of Jonathan and Polly Humphreys and were named in his will, which wass admitted to probate in Fayette County in October 1813. One other named heir was grandson James Banford, s/o of Jonathan Humphreys' dtr., Polly, who had married Wm. Banford on 5 April 1804. By 1850, Martha Ferguson and her sister, Catherine were enumerated in the household of Peter Evans, 45, a KY born farmer; his wife Rebecca, 39; Sarah J., 17; Richard, 13; Elizabeth Ann, 7; Thomas, 6, and Peter, Jr., 3. On 23 October 1826, Peter Evans had married one Rebecca Ferguson. Because this site long has also been called The Evans Family Burying Ground, it is possible others were interred here; it also is possible Rebecca Ferguson Evans was a daughter of Martha Humphreys Ferguson. This cemetery should be cross-referenced again Evans Family Cemetery!
