This site was surveyed in 1979 by the city's historic preservation division (FA 
448).

In 1850, Sarah Hunt, 48, was enumerated in the household of Samuel Downing, 47, 
a farmer.  She was his mother in law, and was KY born.  Also in Downing's 
household were his wife, Margaret, 22, and Kate A., 2.  Fayette County marriage 
records report that on 11 July 1844, Samuel Downing has married Margaret HUNTER 
[sic].
